Question by : How can I get free products to review on my website?
I have a food blog, and would like to get free products to review on my site. I’ve seen it done on so many “mommy” blogs and things like that… even expensive electric equipment (like coffee makers, mixers, blenders, etc… were given to these bloggers for FREE just for reviewing on their website.)

how do I go about getting free stuff to review? Who do I have to email or call?

Find a website with the products you want to review and look for an affiliates link, usually on their home page somewhere (or check the site map if they have one). sign up and get approved. After your approved email them about the specific item you want and tell them that you would like to refer your readers to this item but you need to test the quality of it before you are willing to tack your name to the review, many will have no problem mailing you out a free test item.

Emphasis how large your following is so that they have no doubt they will make a profit off of the deal. This may be harder to achieve with larger more expensive items due to both the cost of the item and the cost of shipping but as long as they feel they will see a profit from the deal in the long run and they don’t have a strict policy against this(which some do) than you my friend can restock your whole kitchen on the house.

You need to get some people to your blog, first, most likely- do you have traffic? If not, try to use free coupons for Facebook and Adwords. Also, make a facebook fan page and invite your friends. I just launched my own blog recently, and did both of those things. The other key is perseverance. You have to find the right people to contact and keep after them. Try to google the names and emails of the top brass for companies you want to contact. Keep trying and don’t give up!
