I have a 160 GB external drive. Is there any free software that I can install that will automatically do a back up when I plug the external drive to the PC?

I understand that there are click-free drives available. But I would want a software to work with a normal external drive.

Try SyncBack. It’s an excellent freeware tool that lets you create backups, data syncs and more. You can back up to external drives and even FTP sites.
